FAQ

Wear and tear

Many factors influence the wear and tear of jewellery. These factors include sweat, perfume, hairspray, alcohol and medicine consumption, body imbalance, stress and air pollution. These factors provoke a chemical reaction in the metal, which result in oxidation.

t is possible that the oxidizing may be transferred to the skin. To prevent the alteration of your ROSEBUD jewellery, avoid those factors. As a result, you can often wear the jewellery without the transference.

Clean your ROSEBUD jewellery using warm water and then dry it off using a soft cloth. Crystals and leather cannot tolerate any form of chemicals. We highly recommend you to clean your jewellery after use if it has been in contact with chlorine, perfume, hairspray or sweat.

To wear you ROSEBUD jewellery while sleeping, showering and bathing is not recommended.

Are all products nickel-free?

All ROSEBUD jewellery is nickel-free. During production, tests are frequently made to assure us that our products are 100% nickel-free.

Why does jewellery give some people a rash?

Many factors can be responsible for an allergic reaction. Since all our jewellery is nickel-free, it is not due to nickel in the jewellery. An allergic reaction can be the result of something you ate or applied on the skin.

Many allergic reactions occur on areas of the skin where jewellery is often worn; it is difficult to know the exact cause of the reaction without testing. A rash cause by an allergy does not always appear where the cause is. As an example, if you eat or drink something your system won’t tolerate, the rash may not appear around your mouth. The neck and wrist have really sensitive skin and are often the places where an allergic reaction takes place.

Can I sleep and swim with my jewellery on?

To sleep, swim and do sports with your ROSEBUD jewellery is absolutely not recommended. Those activities have a big influence on the life on the jewellery. As mentioned sweat, perfume, chlorine, hairspray, alcohol and medicine consumption, stress and pollution can create a reaction in the metal. This reaction can cause the metal to oxidize earlier than it would ordinarily would.

How can I keep my jewellery clean?

To take good care of your ROSEBUD jewellery, we recommend you to clean it with warm water and a soft cloth after use. This is particularly important if the jewellery has been in contact with sweat, chlorine or perfume. CRYSTALLIZED™ - Swarovski elements, pearls and leather cannot tolerate chemicals of any kind. Also, you should not store your jewellery in the bathroom. The excess moisture will cause the jewellery to oxidize faster.

Why does the jewellery sometimes leave marks?

Occasionally, the jewellery can leave black or green marks on the skin. This chemical reaction is the result of oxidation. Several factors can leave to this reaction such as stress, body imbalance, and air pollution. Also, the contact of the jewellery with sweat or perfume can cause this reaction to the metal. By avoiding the causes of premature oxidation and by cleaning the jewellery with a clean cloth, this reaction will be a thing of the past.

Why are the colours of precious stones not always the same?

Precious stones are natural stones (previously called ‘semi-precious stones’). The stones we use for your ROSEBUD jewellery are not dyed. Their appearance is due to their naturally varying shades and hues. This is the reason why it is impossible to determine a color scale for all stones. The same stone can consist of both light shades and dark shades.

What is ROSEBUD jewellery made of?

ROSEBUD jewellery is handmade. It is made of a base of tin. And then it is covered with copper, brass or silver. Surfaces may oxidize to different degrees. All jewellery has undergone a surface treatment with a highly resistant varnish to prevent oxidation.
